At best having money only gives one the means to spend time and effort into figuring out what will bring one happiness. At best money provides a sense of security. My father is wretched at saving money - he'll work for free, buy useless things for others and himself, invest in hopeless business ventures and constantly stress over being in debt. I worry because in the first two instances I am much like him. Money means very little to me. I work and get paid - but somehow the connection between work and money isn't very strong for me and I will always spend the money on other people, etc.
